Pre-Kindergarten-Primary School students join Sharjah’s newest school. SABIS International School – Aljada (SIS-Aljada), the newest SABIS® school in the UAE, has opened its doors in time for the 2021-2022 academic year in Sharjah’s largest residential community, Aljada.
Pupils to benefit from exceptional facilities and access to world-class educational system. Final phase of fully operational school opening to be completed during the summer of 2022.
The school has welcomed students in Pre-Kindergarten through Primary School to its state-of-the-art 60,000 square metre campus, which includes its own indoor swimming pool, shaded play area and an indoor multipurpose hall.
A second opening phase of SIS-Aljada will facilitate the welcoming of pupils up to Grade 12, reaching a final capacity of 3500+ students in total. The construction contract for the second phase of the school, which was valued at over AED100 million, has been awarded to ASGC. Work on the second phase of the school has already begun and will be completed during the summer of 2022 in time for the next academic year.
Upon full completion, SIS-Aljada’s world-class facilities will include science and computer laboratories, a performance hall and extensive sports facilities including a semi-Olympic pool, an indoor basketball/tennis court, an Olympic soccer field and an athletics track.
Like all schools in the network, SIS-Aljada will implement the proven, proprietary SABIS® Educational System that is designed to give students the solid foundation of knowledge and 21st century skills they will need to achieve success in university and in life. Proprietary, innovative, digital technology embedded into the program will give students an edge in ensuring their academic success. From E-books and Interactive Boards to the SABIS® Digital Platform, the integrated technologies are available at school and at home guaranteeing that learning never stops.
SIS-Aljada is the latest in a long line of successful SABIS® schools in the UAE, and the second in Sharjah, joining The International School of Choueifat-Sharjah, the opening of which in 1975 marked the launch of the very first SABIS school outside Lebanon.
SABIS® Vice-President Victor Saad commented: “I am delighted to welcome a new cohort of students to the SABIS® Network. As our second school in Sharjah, SABIS-Aljada is a testament to our continued dedication and commitment to offering students in the Emirates an outstanding education that prepares them for success in the future. Together with our partners Arada, we are confident that we will make a difference in the lives of our students and make a positive impact on the families of Aljada and of Sharjah.”
Ahmed Alkhoshaibi, Chief Executive Officer of Arada, said: “This is one of the most important milestones in our journey to make Aljada a truly comprehensive living experience for families. With its outstanding teaching system and next-generation facilities, SIS-Aljada is an exceptional asset for the local community and is also in keeping with Sharjah’s commitment to providing a world-class education for all.”
The school’s location within the Aljada master plan means that it is ideally located between Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road, University City and Sharjah International Airport, and is only a 15-minute drive from Dubai. Aljada is Sharjah’s most popular mixed-use destination, with a projected eventual population of over 70,000.
